Don't fight it.
So I didn't. And I was able to see her as she is... A wonderful, sweet, beautiful daughter. (who doesn't want to go to bed at 7:30, 8:30, or 9:30) No fight. No struggle. Just a little hand on mine as we watched Cinderella.

i have struggled with this...not that the kids necessarily FIGHT it (2 girls are old enough now)but walker just sometimes doesnt want to go to bed...and i'll say, well its TIME for bed...who's to say what his time is?? Recently he asks to read a book before bed and at first i was like ugh NO!!! but then i'm like, really? does it matter THAT much to fight with him about it? so we read...and sometimes we read some more...and thats OK...thanks for this post...and thanks for posting again...i love you, and miss you TONS
