A Morning "Conversation"

(me: blue-Honey:red)
Standing right next to my wonderful husband who I love so so much:
"So, did the fire finally get going?"
pause pause pause
"Did the fire finally get going?"
pause pause pause
...."COREY!??!! DID...THE...FIRE...GET....GOING?!"
Finally turning to me, with daggers in his loving eyes:
...um, actually, I forgot what he said what with the daggers and all.

So, the moral of this one-sided conversation is...never assume that someone knows you are talking to them when your son is the one standing next to the wood-burning stove and your husband is buttoning his many layers of clothing and thinking about working in the cold and he thinks you are talking to The One Who Stands Next to the Going Fire.

oops.
