This will probably be my last post for a little while. Moving day is today... well, loading day at least. The driving part most likely tomorrow. I am anticipating new adventures and new beginnings. I was talking to a friend the other day...about how the opportunity arises when you move to a new place.. the opportunity to re-invent yourself. Or at least the feeling that you can start fresh. I do like that feeling. Especially when Spring is around the corner. It seems to match.
The boys were 7 and 9 when we moved here. (4 1/2 years ago) Now they are 11 and 14. They immediately made friends with two boys on our street. Josh and Colton.. two of the most awesome boys around. There were summers spent fishing in the wetlands, biking to Mill Creek then swimming. There were sleepovers, video games, forts (and farts), movies, football in the front yard, basketball in the street, sledding on the little hill in the field behind our house. There was laughter, disagreements, apologies and hugs. I couldn't have asked for better friendships for my children. They are growing up now and they have grown up together. Thank you sweet Joshwa and sweet Colton! Our lives are so much better having known you. We love you!
I watched a friend have a baby here... and my life will never be the same.
I have been inspired by my wonderful husband, who had a dream to be a river guide and moved our family to Moab where the Colorado River runs through. And who now is a full-time Grand Canyon river guide! Follow your heart! It will lead you to great places.
I will miss the friends that I made. Women who came into my life and made it better. Women I have learned from and who have inspired me. Helped me to be a better friend, mother, wife ... a better me. So many people have touched my life in this amazing town amongst the red rocks and blue skies.
Catherine and Nicole...There aren't enough words. I love you and will miss you immensely.
I started a bookclub a couple years ago.. with me and 3 others. It now has 10. I will miss it... and the unique ladies that are in it. Onward Third Thursday Readers!!
The Grand County Public Library is the best I have ever found!! It was our home away from home. Me and the kids were there at least 3 times a week. It really is the best small library in America. (and was voted so in 2007!)
Anyways I better stop now before the lump in my throat explodes.
On to a new journey, new friends, new home.
And in the words of Tom Petty: "Time to move on. Time to get goin. What lies ahead I have no way of knowin. But under my feet, babe.. the grass is growin. It's time to move on. Time to get goin."
Blessings..til we meet again.
