it took to blossom."

What In The World Have I Been Up To???

(1.)  Looking forward to a new addition on the block from friend, Nicole.   (2.).........watching my husband cook whilst wearing my cute cat apron that Anissa bought me a year ago..... (3.)..... using our new cast iron skillets whenever we possibly can, .....(4.) doing Perfect Push-Ups ...all of us...every last one of us in this hacienda.
(I'll post pictures of my biceps at a later date).        .... and.........

(5.) ..... HOMESCHOOLING!!!!!!!!

What??  You heard right.  We took the boys out of the public school system about 3 weeks ago and are trying to create a new love of learning.  And doing art practically everyday!  And reading books!  And other stuff, and such and things.  I am being very vague here.  Probably because this has been one of the hugest decisions and undertakings I have ever....(ever-besides-giving-birth-and-caring-for-a-newborn-then-training-children-forever-every-day-every-day-waking-up-all-hours-with-toddler-being-married-compromising .....well...you know what i mean) taken on.

Lots of thinking and reading and researching lately.  And waking up at 2:00AM... thinking and dreaming about homeschooling.  That's how I know it's right.  Constant nudgings.  Constant thought that this is the only way...for us....right now.   Already there has been improvement.  We are doing "Learning" our own way.  For us...for our boys...this is the best choice.  It's the only choice.

Some days are hard and weird and meandering.  Other days have been full to the brim with excitement and accomplishment!  We're learning as we go.  But already, the boys know countries in South America, capitals of states here in the U.S.A., countries in Europe, and countries in Africa that they DIDNOT know before!!!  And Clancey has finished a chapter book and is on the 2nd in the series!  (he hasn't finished a book in 2 yrs).  Lucas is almost finished with his chapter book (he's never finished one!)  AND we have done lots of art projects ....very wonderful ones.... if I do say so meeself.  They are also both excited to look things up now (in the dictionary and at the library) which they were always annoyed at doing before.  A love of learning....   Self-directed learning.  It's happening.  Go us!

cleek on this linky-loo...(it's cute):
CHANGES

Very cool...now I want to know what prompted the Homeschooling decision? :) That is a HUGE undertaking!!! Did you research it before you took the boys out? What did you tell the school? Do you have to meet any sort of standards?

Holy Cow! That would scare the crud out of me. I don't think I learned enough in school to do justice with my child. I am so impressed with what a wonderful mom you are. It's important to have that love of learning and you have always had it naturally. I'm glad you are going to instill that in your children. Love ya Jenny
